Phil Lopez is an accomplished composer, singer-songwriter, and music educator whose diverse career spans performance, recording, and education. As a BMI-affiliated artist (Publisher #102561, Composer #206712), he maintains ownership of his master recordings and operates both Cygnet Records and Elf Salad Music (BMI).

Lopez's musical foundation was established through his participation in the prestigious New Jersey Symphony Boys' Choir and Madrigals, where he developed his vocal artistry alongside classical training. His instrumental focus on trumpet carried him through his academic career at the University of Tampa, a National Association of Schools of Music-accredited institution, where his emerging compositional talents earned him a music scholarship. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree, later complementing his artistic credentials with a Master of Education from National Louis University.

His professional performance experience includes extensive national touring as both lead vocalist and brass section member with multiple ensembles. Upon establishing roots in Tampa, Lopez founded Tampa Bay Brass, positioning himself as both performer and mentor within the regional music community. His dual commitment to performance and education has created a comprehensive artistic practice that bridges creative expression with pedagogical expertise.

Lopez's songwriting has garnered significant recognition, most notably at the Florida Songwriters' Festival, where he achieved the rare distinction of placing in two separate categories—earning second place in Pop for "Crystal Ball" and third place in Rock for "Chase the Tears Away."
